To better align with these efforts, ARAMARK Healthcare, a leading provider of hospital support services, announced today that its European service business, Medical Equipment Solutions & Applications (MESA), located in Lugano, Switzerland, is one of the first independent providers of clinical technology services, refurbished equipment and parts to achieve ISO13485 certification. This widely recognized standard applies specifically to medical devices and validates the company’s processes to ensure high quality diagnostic imaging service, parts and pre-owned equipment for hospitals and diagnostic imaging centers throughout Europe.

The certification applies to MESA’s diagnostic imaging capabilities for high end equipment such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), angio/cardiac imaging systems and other general xray systems.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent agency that ensures quality processes and systems for reliable, predictable and transferrable internal operating procedures. MESA’s certification was approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a leading international certification body based in the UK. Among the activities that MESA is approved for under the certification is employee training, parts quality assurance processes, equipment root cause failure analyses and continuous improvement processes.
