Blink-182 hits the road with new album
As June rolled into July, Blink-182 had a lot on his plate. The first date of a major amphitheater tour with My Chemical Romance opening Act was imminent, August 5. In addition, the group was struggling to meet a deadline of July 31 at the end of his highly anticipated new album, "neighborhoods" - a date that the group could definitely not afford to miss. The drummer and his friend and musical cohort, DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), survived, but suffered significant injuries, with Barker sustaining burns from the waist down.
