Babb goes back-to-back to claim DIRTcar Summer Nationals date at Lincoln Park

Babb puts his stick and was able to hold off Unzicker and Jason Feger over the 26 laps remaining to take a $ 5,000 payday second after winning in Lake Odessa, Michigan on Sunday night at I-96 Speedway. ASH: Oral Agent Beats Enoxaparin, May Aid Outpatient DVT Tx

ORLANDO — The oral factor Xa inhibitor rivaroxaban (Xarelto) reduced the risk of recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE) with no increase in bleeding, according to results of two large clinical trials reported here.

Patients with symptomatic deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) had a recurrence rate of 2.1% with rivaroxaban compared with 3% with enoxaparin plus a vitamin K antagonist during treatment of as long as 12 months.

In a parallel study patients with symptomatic DVT had a recurrence rate of 1.3% with rivaroxaban compared with 7.1% in patients switched to placebo after six to 12 months of treatment for VTE, Harry R. Buller, MD, reported at the American Society of Hematology meeting.
