New category of photos at Woods County Fair

Woods County Extension Office and its director of photography made a change in the rules Woods County Fair photo exhibit by adding a new category: mobile phone photos!

The new rules also eliminate a distinction between categories and digital camera. It's very clever. I doubt that you can buy a roll of film in Oklahoma, no more.

I guess the pictures are taken by cellphone cameras than any other digital technology. If you think about it, almost everyone in America has a cell phone. . . and it is almost impossible to procure a cell phone that does not have a camera.

Since a majority of today's images are probably obtained by this method, it certainly opens up a lot of potential county fair entrants to a category of how a majority of photos are taken.

I will guess the biggest problem is that many people don't know "how" to get their photos off their cell phones. It's hard to make a print for the county fair if you can't get the image out of the camera.

Career Tech Course

I have re-upped and have agreed with the Northwest Technology Center to teach another digital photography class beginning in October this year. In that class, one of the lessons teaches students how to get their images off both traditional digital cameras and the cell phone cameras. Another portion of that lesson shows how to reduce digital files to a manageable size so your images don't take up terrabytes of storage.

Also, one other important section deals with renaming or renumbering camera files so they can be organized and found easier.

County Fair Again

Viewing the photography exhibits at the county fair this year should be much more satisfying.

The new rules specify a consistent print size. With that standardization, all prints will be equally viewable. In the past, many smaller prints taped to the bottom of the display board were difficult to notice.

Also, the former adhesive tape mounting system tended to fail and many prints would fall to the floor.

This year, the new display racks will hold the prints in vinyl display bags. These will be easier to mount. Also, the prints will be protected from damage by sticky fingers and routine handling.

So my advice is plan to enter your best prints into the county fair because big improvements are planned, and you can take home some pretty blue ribbons and some cash prizes.

The receipt notice of EAD application came from California Service Center. and there is nothing on the EAD card about which office it was approved by. The 485/EAD/AP all was filed by my employer's attorney, they will not respond to my questions anymore. i don't think i have copy of the EAD application send last year july. Anybody got older version of I-765, older than "7/30/07" edition? I think that DOS, the visa office has the answer. This is insane. According to the 485 report released by USCIS some time ago, there were approximately 4000 ROW EB3 pending cases up with PD of up to 6/2002. As such, the dates should have been moved in December and moved a lot. Yet, they did not move it. I think I am going to write up a letter to Mr. Opperheim, or whatever his name is and ask why he did not move the dates at all. I have E-Filed for EAD renew on jne 27th and have sent all the supporting documents the following day. But on Aug 6th recieved an RFE for the photos I haven't sent along with the documents and asked me submit 2 color passport photos. It was my understading that I don't have to send the photos while E-filing since they will be taken at the bio-metric appt. I am done with my bio-metric appt. Do i need to contact USCIS about this or is there any thing you guys can suggest me.
